You may be spending a lot of time in the hospital lately or maybe you have visited a nursing home just recently. There are a lot of people who really serve in these places of health industry or you might be visiting your friend as a patient or maybe someone sick and has been undergoing medical treatments. Again and again, health centers like clinics and hospitals have become full of people and more likely, the personal safety of visitors, patients and the staff should be one of the major concerns. From the Ira Lipman book, about the safety by our self from crime, here is an example : one old man in his early seventies waiting for the treatment in the general hospital on a hernia operation went on to walk around the hospital floor. After the walk when he turn back to the room where he stayed he found that his valuables has been stolen, which includes his wallet as well as his credit cards, his wrist watch and a gold ring, the keys with dentures. On noticed this he immediately report the incident to the staff nurse who in turn summoned the hospital security.

European Union ban smoking in hospitals and medical centers

European Parliament seeks to ban smoking in every enclosed public are within three years. However, up to the present moment, just 10 EU-member countries, with Spain not in that list, are enforcing that smoking ban in a proper manner. So, the research is focused on demonstrating that the majority of hospitals have indeed become smoke-free, however, some of them fail to comply with bans comprehensively.
