A separate compromise package of changes also passed in the House on Sunday and still needs to be approved by the Senate. The officials noted that the Senate cannot begin debate on the package before Obama signs on underlying Health Care bill.
“There will be no cooperation for the rest of this year,” McCain said in an interview in Arizona. “They have poisoned the well in what they have done and how they have done it.”

President Obama is meeting with both Democratic and Republican leaders this week in order to try to hammer out a national health care plan. Both sides have been complaining that the other side hasn’t been playing fairly; the Democrats say the Republicans are being obstructionist and the Republicans say that the Democrats have been conducting their health care planning in secret.
I’m a fan of the notion that the health care industry has gotten out of hand. The system, including the pharmaceutical industry, needs some kind of reform to become more available, more cost-friendly, more efficient, and as silly as it sounds, healthier. However, it’s for these reasons that I’m uneasy, as all Americans should be, with the current health care bill being muscled through the senate.
I want to keep up to date but I haven’t had time to watch/read the news lately. So could anyone update me? I know something (did one of Obama’s bills pass?) happened in the last few days…but I’m not sure what. Current events is not my strong point. Please enlighten me! Thanks
i have no background on the healthcare plan.
what do death panels have to do with this?
how is this article a satire of the healthcare plan?
what are the intention of the author of the article?
NOTE: Information in numbered items in bold below comes from Republican Party literature handed out at a health care rally in Nashville on August 13, 2009; the information following each numbered item is a response to the false non-documented propaganda contained in the Republican Party-endorsed handout.
1. We need to reform health care. It costs too much.
Republicans under Bush did nothing to reform the health care industry. There is no historical track record of Republican health care reform. Thus, current proposals reek of partisan political charades and complete and total dishonesty.
Tomorrow when Massachusetts elects Brown for Senate, it will pretty much put a end to the health care bill that the Democrats are trying to force upon America. Considering that Obama has spent the majority of his first year in office concentrating on what will turn out to be a failure, has he ruined any chances of winning a second term?
Also, what will he do during 2010? Concentrate for another entire year on health care reform, or will he let it go?
